Tuscany landscape

january 2008 - Govert painted a masterly Tuscany landscape for a family in the village of Wateringen.
The wall of this mural, with dimensions of 360 x 220 cm is located in a sun parlour.
The light enters this parlour beautifully via a glass roof and enlightens the walls in a natural and inconspicuous way.
To achieve depth in this painting, Govert painted two reclining figures on the terrace and painted tiles in the same colour as those lying on the parlour floor.
The effect of all this is that, seen from the living room, the parlour opens to the terrace.
Govert’s palette is simple here. He uses four earth colours to create unity.
The panorama as you can see it in Lucca, Italy.
