Commissioned murals

Notably in his murals Govert Muijs takes the space and uses it optimally. It looks as if for him space has no limits. Each time he attempts to break the boundaries of space and the format which the frame prescribes. He tries to make his murals communicate with existing, tangible objects in the space allotted to him, making use of suggestive, three-dimensional painting techniques.

Before a mural is commissioned, Govert determines in close cooperation with the principal and on the basis of sketches, to what extent a mural can be integrated in the available room or hall.
